Well, that's my thoughts exactly, but then we don't get to hear everything.

With due respect you haven't read what I have written. I said that I heard they are stopping CTC cadets after the current batch of agreed intakes, which is estimated around September. We'll see if it's true when the time comes I guess.

Hi all,

Can someone give me more information about the simulators being used in the AQC fase? Are these of the fixed based types or full motion simulators?

Furthermore, who decides on which simulator you will do the AQC?

Many thanks for the information!

Fixed base. It's randomly decided who uses which sim.

Phase 2 dates are available once again for 26/05/2011. Not really sure if I want to attend the assessment after reading all that's on here...any suggestions?

Yes, don't bother if you have doubts. Too much competition out there I'm afraid.

Just curious, what did you mean with that comment?

If a "CTC skygod has written off a 62.65€ (£55)m Easy Airbus on the 2nd day of line training" it would be all over the news. I mean come on, to write off an aircraft and no one has heard about this? I find this very strange. Plus, it's not something you can hide from the media.

maveric

I beg to differ. My airline has had 2 serious tail strikes and heavy landings resulting in millions of pounds worth of damage. One instance was a very serious one. It didn't appear here or in the media.

Don't know if it's a write off but it did happen. Just one of those things that can happen in training I guess. No idea on the insurance companies position wrt future cadets.

So, here in the forum there is nobody who can tell that he was holding in the pools of ATP CTC program that was eventually called to start a type rating.
Do you think it is a good opportunity or just a waste of time and money?
I think that CTC will always have availability of cadets for its airline partners, there is a real chance that pilots in the holding pool ATP can be called sooner or later?
Thanks

I think that there is an opportunity to be called. Just be prepared for a long wait. Before signing up for the AQC I knew it would be possible to wait at least 2yrs for a call. At least that way I don't get disappointed. If you have the extra cash and (in my case) don't have MCC qualification yet, go for it. It's a very good learning experience, just don't quit your day time job just yet!

During the assessment do they give you ATPL tech questions?

If so what would be good to prepare for the assessment?

Hi

Hi all,

I've been reading this topic for a while now, but most information on the assessment day seems to be from a couple of years ago... Has anyone gone there recently?
any tips or knowledge about what i'm to expect? I've got my assessment the 30th of june.
