costas1979, I asked CTC that exact question, their response was "order to meet the selection criteria for the ATP programme you have to have a current instrument rating and Class 1".

and apart of a very slim chance for the initial interview for sco with cathay there is nothing left for this year to hope for.
Speaking as an ex ATPer, you cannot really predict how, what and when. I believe you're in the right place for a proper career opportunity. If my experience is anything to go by, expect the unexptected!

Sciolistes, good to see someone spread some good news for a change. How long did you wait in the pool and how long ago were you called? if you don't mind me asking.

I heard a CTC skygod has written off a 55m Easy Airbus on the 2nd day of line training, and that the insurance company has said "no more CTC after the current batch has gone through (September I hear)". Any truth in this rumour?

coffin corner, please, could you tell me more?

I was invited to the selection for the AQC, and I want to understand as much as possible on this topic.
Could you explain this story?
Is there anyone here in the forum called to start the type rating?

Sounds like a load of horse sh*t to me. If Easy had just had an Airbus written off I think the Rumours & News forum would be have a field day!

Well, that's my thoughts exactly, but then we don't get to hear everything.

With due respect you haven't read what I have written. I said that I heard they are stopping CTC cadets after the current batch of agreed intakes, which is estimated around September. We'll see if it's true when the time comes I guess.

Hi all,

Can someone give me more information about the simulators being used in the AQC fase? Are these of the fixed based types or full motion simulators?

Furthermore, who decides on which simulator you will do the AQC?

Many thanks for the information!

Fixed base. It's randomly decided who uses which sim.

Phase 2 dates are available once again for 26/05/2011. Not really sure if I want to attend the assessment after reading all that's on here...any suggestions?

Yes, don't bother if you have doubts. Too much competition out there I'm afraid.

Coffincorner,

I did infact misread what you wrote there, sorry. I haven't heard anything along those lines from the guys that are there now though. I guess we'll have to wait until September then lol

Just curious, what did you mean with that comment?

If a "CTC skygod has written off a 62.65 (55)m Easy Airbus on the 2nd day of line training" it would be all over the news. I mean come on, to write off an aircraft and no one has heard about this? I find this very strange. Plus, it's not something you can hide from the media.

I beg to differ. My airline has had 2 serious tail strikes and heavy landings resulting in millions of pounds worth of damage. One instance was a very serious one. It didn't appear here or in the media.
