Asian Air Services

Hi all,

I have received an invitation to interview for a trainee co-pilot position at Asian Air Services today (there is a job offer from them on several websites advertising low hour pilot jobs)
Has anybody heard anything about them?
They ask to come to their office to Cambodia or Indonesia, but company itself doesn't look too reliable - no information about them in internet at all.
Thinking if its worth wasting time and money on going there, isn't it some kind of a fraud? They don't seem to be asking any money for an interview though.
Would appreciate any info and maybe someone else got an invitation from them?

Do you have any details about T&Cs? To me, the job offer sounds too good to be true.
8000 USD per month for a low timer? yeah... right!

Reading in more details on their website, the company seems very much inclined into p2f.
So whereas the initial job offer doesn't state it plainly, I can smell the good offer to lure as many people as possible, then once you are close enough (like buying a ticket to go there and visit them at their office) give you no option but a pay to fly contract (or a type rating, but with no job offer behind).

I recived same.
I can not find any information about them or any website.
So "TOO LOW" I would like to know where is that website where you found the info.
I send a replay email to them in order to find more information.
Where will be the interview, which aircraft will be the program, some information because it is cero info in the first email.
So we can think that this is a scam, initially.... The fact that we are here talking is because we know that something is not 100%.
Please any further information post here.

not looking good

Another one who got the mail here, after some research on the webpage, things are not looking serious enough for me, it seems a "nice" looking web developed in a rush:

For example: Aircreaft when you open it, the main tittle of this section is "Aircreaft", weird it hasnt been corrected yet.

After reading the "Our services" section its pretty clear they are just offering LTs, even the prices are vaguely detailed. I will write them soon too, thanks for keeping here all the news about them.

Here is what job description says on flightdeckfriend:
1. The Company will provide a training/conversion course as applicable. Training cost must be borne by the applicants. Minimum 250 on type hours will be accumulated during type training period to ease employment visa related rules and for license validation/conversion.
3. The suitable applicants will be offered regular employment on the rolls of the Company after completion of type training. Salary will be commensurate as per industry standards and further progression as per the company policy.

It looks pretty much like you have to pay for TR and then for a line training in a no-name company with no background..

I know of one more person who got an invitation.

Too many red flags. Guys, don't fall for this. It would not surprise me if the guy of Skies Aviation is behind it or so.

If you feel the need to do P2F, then go for EagleJet or Baltic Aviation Academy. At least there you know that you get what you pay for. It is unethical, but as said, you do not get screwed.

The fact that so many here have the invitation looks pretty much like luring.

Don't waste time and above all money on traveling there.

Got the same email today!

At first glance it looks like P2F advertisement, but I guess they forgot to state the fact that you have to pay. I later found a price list for line training. Also it is a bit strange that they are inviting people to come all that way for the first interview, usually there is a Skype interview first.

I asked a captain on A320 who was flying in Cambodia recently as a contract pilot, about AAS and hes reply was...THERE IS NO SUCH COMPANY IN CAMBODIA. I think he would know who are his company's competitors.

Anyhow, it sure smells fishy. Either its p2f or scam...or both. I will reply on their email and ask for more info, just to see what will they reply and than we can compare their bull....

I have been in touch with FDF a few days ago, underlining what I said here, asking at least that they put (at least) a disclamer. They first assured me that the company was genuine and the offer seems legit.
I think they realised what it really is...

I got invited too and asked FDF about it aswell. After a few messages they said they smell fraud too and they removed it.

I am still waiting for AAS answers to a lot of my questions. I ain't spending 2000 bucks travelling to Jakarta and then stand in front of a closed door.
I mean... 8000$/month does seem like a reasonable offer compared to other offers in Asia but their website is quite and you cannot find anything about them on google. Let's wait and see, I will post the answers to my questions if I get any.

Copy of the answer from AAS

I am sorry to write to you that, we are unable to sponsor you at this preliminary stage and most importantly there are hundreds of applicants will be attending selection process and practically it is impossible to fund all.

we are in a process to conduct interview process which might start from 23rd of this month and will continue till first week of October, venue will be either Cambodia or Indonesia which will be notified later and will depend upon availability of our Vice President of Human Resource. Interview date may be extended few more days depending upon the number of applicants, applicant's availability as well as availability of our officials.

It's being mentioned on in our job advert that applicant will arrange type rating cost. Subsidised fees for 250 on type hours will be charged to successful applicant. The United Sates Dollars Twenty four thousand is the fees of B 737 NG as well as A 320-200 series of aircraft and the United States Dollars Twenty thousand is for ATR 72 500/600 type.

We do not entertain any phone call from the applicants nor do we conduct interview over phone or through Skype or through any other electronic media. Furthermore it has come to our notice that few applicants are changing "subject matter" from the mail "Subject" heading while writing us back, we urge all those applicants not to change subject details or heading.

Hope this mail will help you to clear most of your doubt.

The URL for the website was only registered in May 2017 so has all the hallmarks of something setup quickly as a scam.

Received another letter from them today, same info about interview being held at the end of September and beginning of October as Skyseeker95 did receive, and also they say that: Subsidised fees for 250 on type hours will be charged to successful applicant.
Also they told that you have to pay 24 000 USD for TR on A320 or B737 and 20 000 USD for TR on ATR 72.

All in all I think its now clear that all this thing is a big scam and we can forget about them..
