Got a call from CAE OAA. I got offered route 2/3 with guaranteed upgrade to MPL if required standard is met (TBC in the letter).

Start date is 20 March 2017. I'm awaiting confirmation letter to start the loan option with BBVA. Anyone else is in my position?

Also, they have no more onsite accommodation left, so anyone looking for house share - please PM me!

I know, I've been checking on both
My understanding was that the 1st of January, the first assessment was taking place, that's why I was asking. Just looking for some info about the computer and numeracy test. But on both pages nobody has written anything yet.
Thank you, anyway!

carlox041,

If it's the typical CTC selection process, which I can't see why it won't be, then check out the link in my bio/profile and the selection pages may help you. Or, failing that use Google to search for Diben Manor selection.

Google Search for "Dibden Manor Selection Test"

@TheHighFlyah, Did you apply to the easyJet MPL and Virgin MPL both with CTC? You can only have one application open at a time and if that is the case, they have progressed your Virgin application have they not? :-)
The Virgin application is with CTC and the EasyJet one is with Oxford George.
I found out that I failed on the 'FAST' task but there were so many issues with this and the 'FIXED WING 1 & 2' tasks (which I was able to re-take on the day), like the screen continuously lagging and audio cutting out, which is ridiculous tbh.

Passed Phase 2 at CTC back in October. Does anyone know when CTC might release some interview dates?

I am in the same position, I spoke to them mid December time, and due to the Virgin and Flybe MPL CTC are a bit delayed, they are also waiting on eJ to confirm dates with them, but they are roughly thinking the interview dates will be Feb time. Unsure when they will put these up to book onto.

Luda,
Congrats on getting Phase 1!

What options have they given you for accommodation, and how much will this add onto the total cost of the course? Also any course start dates?

For those of you who've been through selection for easyjet at CTC, do you remember if the numeracy test takes PEMDAS in account? Or does it "bypass" PEMDAS?

As in:
25 - 5 x 20

With PEMDAS: (25-5)=20 20 x 20 = 400
Without PEMDAS: 25 - 5 x 20 = -75

Hello to everyone! I am assisting at the end of january to Gatwick to perform the non-technical selection stage and SIM assessment for EasyJet. I have been said this:

The non-technical part of your day is designed to be informative and fun. We will be running three main activities: a company presentation, group exercise and a personal competency-based interview. You can prepare for the comptetency style of interview by researching the STAR technique.

Could you tell me something else about what I am going to be asked. I have read about the STAR technique. Have they asked you also technical questions? General aviation questions? Or about the type rating you fly?

Did you have to do also some specific test?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi andy, thanks unfortunately all onsite accomodation is gone so its up to the student to find their own, though they did say theyve had people from oxford vet nearby properties and will give a list of suitable ones so as far as price i couldnt tell you yet. They want me to start march 21st as long as everything is sorted by then

You'd be lucky to get it in 2 months. Mine took a long time. More like 5-6 months. Many cadets who start on short notice have started without finance in place before now.

Could someone explain to me why some cadets end up in either New Zealand or Arizona for flight training? Also, I've seen more recently that some cadets end up doing ground school in Coventry or New Zealand as opposed to Southampton. Do you get a choice in all this or do CTC decide for you?

Apart from being on site I don't think it's any secret the school accommodation hasn't got that much going for it, so don't be too downhearted. You are probably better looking in the local area on a bus route, within cycling distance or get a cheap car!

Having 300+ hrs flying in the US, I can only recommend you pick Arizona if they give you the choice. Living abroad is an amazing life experience and the US still offer the best aviation experience in terms of flight training.

@bigblu,

It's entirely down to the the scheme you are on and availability. For whitetail you may well be given a choice at CTC depending on what's available, or at least I was. I opted for Arizona and Southampton. However, the MPL schemes may well be dictated by the airline.

In the case of the easyJet MPL I believe the vast majority have gone to Southampton and then New Zealand in the past, but who is to say that won't change in the future. A good example of this changing is the most recent Virgin MPL cohort whom will eventually head out off to NZ, or so one of them has told me. Whereas the Virgin MPL cadets very shortly taking up duties on the line and the two courses following them were assigned Arizona/

Hope this helps,

Does anybody who's been there remember if CTC uses PEMDAS for their numeracy test? Or do they ignore that?

Also, for the dressing code they ask for "suit/smart attire". Am I right when I think this the suit without a neckpiece (e.g Tie)?

Last one, I've been using SkyTest and I really like it but recently I was told about LatestPilotJobs' product specifically made for the CTC assessment. Is it worth to buy that one too for someone who already has SkyTest (UK version)?
