Funding without a mortgage

Hi guys - I'm looking at doing the CTC wings with degree course and have been researching funding I can get about half of the costs through training grants and loans as I have not been to uni in the past but I am unable to get the other half through the reccomended company as I don't have a property.
Does anyone else have any experience with bank loans that have helped I am seeing mine on Monday to see what they say but just thought I'd ask if anyone else has succeeded in this expensive endeavour thanks is advance for any help and advice.

I won't tell you to withdrawal before starting, but I EXTREMELY recommend you to take a deep look about the status of the industry nowadays before going ahead into aviation. I'm not going to tell you to quit, I think that everyone should follow their life-dreams, but truth is the industry is not so good today. An there's too many of us "following our dreams".

To take a loan from a bank in order to pay aviation training is just putting your head under the water, just a advise.. before you go. Banks never loose, they will call you to get the money (and interests) they lent you. In case they lend you money, you will have a license (wow congrats.) but without a proper job to pay it back...... and one day you will want to have kids, family, and thats money you will need but you would still be paying back your loan, just saying because seen it happen in other pilots.

Jobs? Just have a quick look on the job offers for FO worldwide and see the requirments. Pretty high. FI? well that used to be that way the last 10-15 years but recently ( last 5 years) it's even very hard to find a FI position anywhere, everybody is getting a FI rating nowadays because they can not make it to any airline.

Anyway, if you don't have any propery, guarantee or anything it's almost impossible you will get a bank loan to pay aviation training and a license.

Stay away now you can!

Thumbs up

i would advise you to do a degree first, get a good job and save your ass off while working hard to pay for your licences thats what i did and it paid off, just yesterday in fact.

It will look better on your CV when your employers are looking at it. Dont risk taking a big ball of money out with nothing to fall back on. But also never give up on your dream, you can do it and i wish you all the best.

I think you're going to really struggle to find any funding that isn't with the Spanish bank I'm afraid, even if you do you'll have the issue of what to put down as collateral. I suggest trying to find an decent paying job and save as much as you can.

Don't go to uni because someone tells you you should. Go if you feel it is right for you. If you don't feel that way, don't do it.

Get a job in aviation, you never know where that may lead you
