UK EASA licence outside the UK

Hi all,

I am considering the option of moving outside the UK to go and fly in Spain. I have a UK EASA licence with a A320 TR on it. I have got around 460h TT (flying the A320 currently).

Would I be able to fly EC- registered aircrafts with my UK EASA licence? If so, how would I renew my TR?

Could I consider changing my licence to a Spanish EASA licence (and therefore the medical as well?). Has anyone had any experiences with this?

I have been reading this and other forums and Part-FCL but I am afraid I haven't found any useful information. I have called the Spanish EASA team as well but they are on holidays.

Kind regards

Yes Ofcourse! It is called EASA license for a reason.Since Spain is under EASA you would be able to fly an EC- registere a/c on your UK license. The A320 type rating can be revalidated/renewed by a UK examiner or any other EASA examiner(provided he undertakes a briefing from the UKCAA).You can fly on a UK license in spain and there is no need to convert unless the operator wants you to do so.
Hope this helps.

Thank you everyone, I paniced a bit when someone told me I had to have an aptitude test if I wanted to fly an aircraft outside the UK. Any expierence converting licences though?

@maxed-out I couldn't stop laughing as well but you are so right.
