Exclamation Wizz air (Merged '09 -'11)

Sooo... WizzAir seems to be hiring.

Has anyone applied yet and did they contact you back?
And how are your overall experiences anyway plus who else have been hiring lately besides Ryan?

Next time no text-speak please

I applied. I am low hours, no time on type but A320 rated. Somebody in the know has told me they have had well over 800 applications for this time around, the vast majority from experienced pilots. Also, I've heard it twice now that traditionally only 250 hour low time pilots from Poland are offered a job. Just what I've heard.

Oh wow.... I dont want to be overly pessimistic nor make any conclusions too early but it seems that its gonna be really hard to get in there.....

Its like hundreds of hungry wolves smelling the blood of one tiny rabbit in the big empty forest.

Was talking to an ex-Whizz air ground guy in Warsaw last Sunday, just make sure it is really for you, before you sign on the dotted line!!!

I find 4000 a bit too high as well but spoke to a FlyNiki FO the other day, as I was also wondering why I did not get invited (they were seeking 30 FOs). According to him they had a good 1000 CVs sent in, some of which were from guys with a few thousand hours under their belt! That's how grim it looks like out there right now.... Depressing.

Dear friends, how do you know that there are x or y amounts of applicants? It sounds like everyone has someone on the inside .

Saying that, I reckon about 5000 pilots to one job low hours, and 500 to one job with time on type. This is what I estimate, (based on absolutely nothing)

Anyhow are they still accepting applications at the moment? (past the 5th october?)

See you

Ideally you should be Polish (or possess a knowledge of plumbing) and have time in A320. Obviously, they can't say this on their webpage for legal reasons, but the recruitment probably received more than their fair-share of CV's with pilots with thousands of hours in TYPE.

yes

The deadline of 5th of Oct was for the job that was based in Sofia. Other than that should be still good- so yes, they should still accept the applications.

And ofcourse! Tell me one place where the first preference is NOT given for people from your own nation??
Would be odd if BA talks first to Siberian rather than Britt (with all my respect to Siberian and UK people). I dont think its a fair and right way to do business but thats the way how the life is...

Life "....." sometimes!! Specially in aviation right now....

It seems that they recieved huge amounts of applications. A mate of mine with 600TT and 200 on A320 didn't even get a callback. I think there is not really a chance of an interview if you have less than 500hrs on A320. Except if you are polish or you have got good contacts....

they are hiring non-type rated FOs too on the website. for me it means that they're looking for pilots without any a320 hours...
