I also got my interview via e-mail, as well as the other 10 guys I met in Pangandaran for the interview... in fact, during all communications, they made sure that going there knocking doors and trying to get and interview was not the way to do it and your cv wouldn't be taken into account if you did.

As far as my knowledge goes, i will stick with the email thing, they don't seem to have a very good way to handle pilots applications, sometimes the inbox is full and you get an error, sometimes they say they are not interested and a few months later, if you apply again you are called for the interview, so my guess is it depends on what are they looking for and if they plan to have a selection process in the future, then is when they start to look at the applications.

I Agree with Muten, all the literature they send you actually says that they will only accept those who have been invited for interview by them and anyone just turning up at their office will not be considered.

Maybe in the past they have allowed that but it seems that channel has now stopped.

can anyone shed light on the medical situation - is it really no restrictions? I have an OML limitation but as it's multi-crew would have thought this was not an issue?

No restrictions means no restrictions. They get literally hundreds of emails a month so they can be picky with who they choose. They do single pilot ops in Porters so they want you to be able to fly anything in the fleet.

There seems to be a lot of complaints about Susi, but it seems quite similar to a lot of the african operators. Zambia CAA has a 2 crew requirement for over 10 pax. My companies AOC is approved for 2 crew ops as well.

Does anyone know what are the requirement for the pc 6. and if I have command time on the van already will I still have to sit in the right seat?

I am a 737 Fo 1k on type cant get work anywhere on the 737 no 1500 TT considering susi for 6-12 months to get the hours up.Anyone have any idea about the "training bond" and if you are called for interview do you generally stay out there or come home then go back again...?? Also as I have more then 1k TT my salary would be 1250 is thi spaid only afer training...???? also howlong could I expect to be made captain with now 1300 TT and 1k jet and what salary would a captain get..?

If Susi have dropped their age limit to below 23, it is obvious they are starting to get desperate.. They have been very strict in the past on the 23 year old age limit.

When I applied, 23 was definately the minimum, and that was recently.

From what im told and what ive seen, hours are not an issue if you have 200 or more.

Dont go knocking on the door.. I know of a guy that was refused an interview and had his cv thrown away.

Before wasting your hard earned money, paying for your tickets etc.. Do your research on this company.. Its NOT for everyone. I will be starting soon and will keep you updated.

From what I understand, 23 years is suppossed to be a hard limit, but I guess someone must have messed up a bit. Would think they get enough applications either way.

They do accept low time pilots, but as other people have said, only use email. Never just show up.

As for attire, any business casual thing will do. Don't need a full suit with a tie, but a collared shirt and some nicer style of pants would at least be a minimum. Some people show up with sandals and shorts, and are subtly hinted to maybe dress up a bit.

As for previous experience, there is no direct hire into the left seat of the caravan. You will at least have to spend 2-3 months in the right seat or so, if you have over a thousand hours. However, lately upgrades have become a lot more stringent, and you now have to pass several evaluations, interview etc.
For the Porter, afaik there is no direct hiring into that one either, but I know of some FOs with lots of Porter experience, that had 1-2 months on the caravan, before being trained for the Porter.

The training bond is paid when you initiate your training. You do get paid during your training.

For the interview process, you will have to do the interview, go back home, wait a couple of weeks, and then get a start date. You will not stay in Indonesia (or well, you could, but I think it might be more expensive to stay for 2 months there).

Dear all,

Just a little personal experience of Susi Air recruitment & assessment for information.

August 13th - 15th 2012 attended Susi HQ in Indonesia and joined 5 others for the assessment over those 3 days. Finished assessments and went back home.

3.5 weeks later 3 of the 6 of us hear from Susi, 2 rejected and 1 accepted and offered a start date on 3rd October 2012.

The remaining 3 from the original 6 have still had no word back from Susi, which is now 2 months since assessment!!

I am aware that some of those who attended selection the month after (Sept 2012) have already started getting replies.

I have no idea what this company is doing in terms of its recruitment but it appears highly dysfunctional & maybe a blessing in disguise for me!

As far as I'm concerned I wasted a few thousand pounds getting there and no longer have any interest in joining this outfit, it seems that on average they assess between 20 - 30 candidates every month and by their own admission take about 1 in 4 so for the remaining 3 you've just blown X thousand $ to be screwed around by a company which on the surface does not seem to know what it is doing!!
