Interviews, jobs & sponsorshipDo ya feel lucky, Punk? Well do ya? If so, here's the place to swap the hot gen on who's sponsoring or employing, their selection criteria, and where those oh so elusive first jobs can be spotted in the wild. Watch out for the tumbleweeds...
Yeah, you're right 121ace.
But a pilot must also be open minded, kind and ready to help... Not sacarstic or disdainful.
If you behave like that during the group test, as intelligent as you can be, no wonder you will have some troubles....
there is absolutely no wrong in ensuring before any application process that an applicant is completely elegible to apply, including that they meet the required medical standards.
how stupid would your sarcastic ass look if you were short listed, passed the interview and selection process and failed at the final medical assesment. i am sure that at that point you would give a flying .
at any rate, where people are trying their best to get a position on a course to achieve their ambitions, and noting that nearly everyone on this thread is a 'wannabe' you should be providing each other with support and advice, not witty comments. looking through your posts on this thread, with your manner of communicating with people, you don't stand a chance of being selected untill you sort your attitude out. based on the little i have seen, I'd sit next to aventhusiast on a flight deck any day over you.
You posted a thread on the Etihad Cadet Pilot Program stating that u r already through with another cadet scheme, can u pls give me the details of the scheme? I too have applied with Etihad, but would not mind getting into any other program because there will be so many applications with Etihad and my chances may be very very narrow. Hope to hear from you soon, pls!!!
Hi....
Please Calm down guys, I applied for emirates aviation college (engineering Dept.) & they required the same qualifications...I joined and had the tests + medicals AFTER being selected & here I am (will graduate in Sept 08), Moreover, it is mentioned in the website:
Medical Examination
Cadet pilots will be required to undertake and pass the company’s standard medical and dental examinations prior to joining. Cadet pilots will also be required to undertake and pass the UAE government standard medical examination and the GCAA medical examination. Details will be given during a briefing prior to joining the programme.
This means...when your application is shortlisted, the company will ask you to go & do the Medicals prior to arriving to Abu Dhabi OR (Most Probably) they will do it for you (appoint doctors & Pay them)...this is just what I so with the Emirates Airlines "Emarati National Cadet Pilot Program".
I'm not trying to be on anybody's side...but I would consider a medical report as an advantage...but this won't have any effect on your application, as you will have to go throught the process again (even if you were a professional pilot who is transferring from an airline to another).
But you won't accept as you have already paid the deposit for the november course at OAA! (otherwrise you will lose the 3k deposit)
Surely it would make sense to lose the £3K deposit and save yourself £70K-£80K on training and accommodation costs with a garuanteed job at the end of it...right?
Just a thought...

wait heli port the email u have recieved from etihad is confusing me! can you just copy n paste your email on this forum cuz i have also recieved an email stating that my application has been shortlisted thats it after that i didnt recieved any email from etihad! and wats the subject of ur email?
Heli port both emails u have written in ur post are same and as you told us that assesment will be based on maths physics questions but i have heard from some one that questions will come from jepessen books!
If you look closely at the second part of the email you will notice that you spelt "airways" incorrectly as "ariways". Not sure if this is a typo in the post.
But all that doesn't matter because I did email etihad (with the correct spelling of the email address as per previous post) and I received a "Notification Failure" message meaning that the email address is obsolete.
If you read the earlier posts in this thread you would have noticed that the alternative email address is
But I didn't receive a reply from them and that was about a month ago.
