Interviews, jobs & sponsorshipDo ya feel lucky, Punk? Well do ya? If so, here's the place to swap the hot gen on who's sponsoring or employing, their selection criteria, and where those oh so elusive first jobs can be spotted in the wild. Watch out for the tumbleweeds...
Hey delay. Thats awesome- I'm studying economics and econometrics and thought I'd be the only person from this sort of background- similarly I did Maths, Economics and Geography for A Level. No flight experience though- fingers crossed!
can you possibly copy and paste the email they sent you? (w.o the perosnal details ofcourse!)....just want to see what to expect if they do possible email!
As others asked, what qualifications do you posses if you dont mind me and others asking.
The problem with the cadet program is that we dont know what the minimum req. are for applicants.
well all it said was ur application is shortlisted for the program on this date so and so. i am a first officer with an airline. flying ATR's at the moment. so i don't know how this scheme reali works.
Although we would be glad if you paste the e-mail here, but in case you don't want then would you just tell us if there has been other info in the e-mail regarding interview, other stage, dates or whatever? Well I have been typing this while you had posted the above two. Anyway, now when you go to "my workspace" on etihad website what's written infront of your application status?

No info yet but rest assured, i will be getting very reliable info as my father works in aircraft maintanence right next to etihad in an MRO.
I actually went up ther 2 days ago and got a security pass and sat in the new Etihad A319 and A320 aircraft and took pics in the cockpit and stuff....very nice and new jets
i want to apply for the scheme too.
maybe someone can answer the following questions. did u attach your school diploma to ur application? my school diploma isnt in english (its in german). do u think that I should let it be translated or isnt it necessary?
and how is the structure of an english curriculum vitae? do I have to mention in it why I want to become a pilot and etc? Or just only biographic data?
the max. requirement they want is nothing above a PPL. as cirus stated hes a first officer for some airline + his resignation to present us the email, therefore i highly doubt the reliability of his info.
as far as i know, there is nothing, 100% nothing at the moment accoding to our buddies in the 'middle east' forum.
lets just wait and try not let anything stir up the feeling inside yourself.
mate i don't need to lie about something like that.. i got better things to do in me life then jus come ere and talk rubbish.. and believe whatever satisfies ur soul easy way..
homonster, i would think again before calling cirrus an unremmitting falsifier of fact...
i tend to believe him, why wouldnt etihad shortlist him? If i were an airline, I would CERTAINLY prefer someone with the flying skills and re-train them to the companys standard operating procedures.
Getting someone fresh with no flight experience is ALWAYS a risk, when I was doing my PPL, I knew a guy who did over 70 hours and never went solo ! some people just arent meant to fly....
As for his resignation to submit the email? its his decision, personally if I were shorlisted for anything it wouldnt be the best Idea to submit confidential information between you and the company on the internet which it would have clearly stated :

Lets all be PATIENT, im sure we'll here from etihad in a month or two....
Do you know if there are only 12 vacancies?, I've just applied yesterday and I was number 808, statistically talking the chances to be there are less than 1%.
Does anybody knows how many aircraft will Etihad recive during the next year?
luck to everyone here !
Just another question for those whose applications are shtlisted, what languages do you speak?
Hi...please check your application status in your Etihad Careers Account...at first it stated "Applied", but now...it states "Under Review"...they are reviewing the applications at this stage.
NOTE: They didn't send me an email informing me that my application is under review (you have to log in)...hope they shortlist my application...& urs' (ALL), I'll keep you informed for any updates.
I've just checked my status and it's still displays "Applied" and I applied around about a month ago.
As I've read in a previous post I'm pretty certain Etihad are giving high priority to those who have family already working for Etihad and then those who live in the UAE and then foreign applications.
C'est La Vie.

Well I assume our friend might be from UAE nationals, as his location also displays that and he might have applied for the national scheme and they have started reviewing the national scheme one, afterward which comes the global one. (you see how we are convincing ourselves, what to do? )
and CruiseC, if they give priority to those you have already mentioned then there is no place for us, as there are only 12 vacancies. Anhaanh! But they had said they will have three intakes through out the year, so that means 36 total or 12/3 means 4 each intake. what do you think?
I am not a UAE national, but born & living in the UAE, I'm from a Middle-Eastern Country (between Turkey & Lebanon)...I've applied on the 20th of March and I don't know anybody in Etihad Airways (why should I join you guys if I know the results of my application?), I'm a student at Emirates Aviation College (Dubai) enrolled in the Higher National Diploma in Aerospace Engineering, worked on A330-200s...etc. as a part of my On Job Training & thats what they liked about my CV...so they are reviewing it, trust me they would preffer a European Passport than a Middle-Eastern this is because you don't need a lots of Visa processing time & (as I can see from my side) you don't have any family responsibilities/strong connections as a normal middle eastern employee does.
GOOD LUCK...just calm down...I might not get it
