DenizD, u nailed it.

I lived in the UAE for about 10 years and let me share my experience, alll locals are balling out of control. They dont have to pay for water/electricty/ etc. they have exclusive rights over every other nationality, they get "Local Allowance" at whatver job they have. I even heard they have special cards which allowas them to buy stuff (ie groceries) for cheaper than the rest of society.... You cant open a business there unless its under a local persons name, if u do open something under a local, theyll most probably ask anything from 1% to 10% of profits, etc etc etc There are many many more privledges they have , too long to list...

My local friend signed up with a govt. education program, b/c his high school avg was higher than a B (ie >=70%), the UAE govt sent him to the states to study finance for 4 years, gave him $12,000 moving allowance and $4,000 a month for the 4 years he's there (this excludes the education/accomodation costs) and upon arrival, as an award, he is promised a $100,000 payment. And the condition for all this is that he has to work in a government dept. for 2 years for , as he put it himself, minimum wage of 80,000dhs a month!!! Thats over $20,000 a month

Its a tough life

Still waiting!
Through to the second stage and replied to say August dates were good for me. Sadly, it's getting to the point that I won't be able to go, August ends in a week and I can't just have four days off from my current job! Not liking this bit!
I know what you mean I have my bag permanently packed for work anyway and now my manager on speed dial to call in sick should I need to

Hi,

I just clicked on the text in the email and made a reservation. King Non Smoking is 178.00 USD + taxes came to 202.00 USD.

I am driving from Ottawa in the am and will see everyone there on the 24th or 25th.

If you make it past the interview, and you need to quit your current job, you have to do something like what Dave Chappelle did when he found out he was having Oprah's baby......

Usually all airines will take care of travel on thir routes for an interview. But if you live in texas and they only fly to New York, then you will probably have to pay for the Texas to New York route. BUt they will probably take care of it.

BTW to all the Brits, I just watched Hot Fuzz again,
and I refer of coiurse to the ever-increasing eye sore.... the living statue:

If the second stage is just an interview then my guess is probably a couple days to a week...

No, still heard nothing about the 2nd phase assessment, i too submitted for the end of August. Perhaps they did not receive enough "positives" for the August date???!!

Its 2 weeks now since they sent out the email asking you to reply, my only other thought is that they were busy finalising JFK, perhaps now that that seems to be done they might be able to arrange something.

At the end of the day no body seems to have received any news, id be more worried if everyone else heard and i didnt etc. Also, it said "end of August", that could easily mean just as well the first week or so in Sept. It wont take them long to organise flights etc on their own network, and accommodation wouldnt be an issue as any airline always has contracts with hotels nearby to base.

hopefully we will hear soon!!! frantic cheking of email is becoming the norm!!!

Hi mates... I have been monitoring this forum for awhile ... and my status have been "under review" since May. I live in HK Asia.. and I just received an email from them .. they are inviting me to an assessment in Sydney on Sept 16... so.. i guess this is a good news to those who applied and reside in Australia. But here is the problem .. i afraid they sent this email to a wrong person .. in the email .. they said i reside in Australia.. but I'm NOT .. so.. i m replying them to see this is real or a mistake ..

Those waiting for the EU round 2 from my understanding is do not panic would be best advice, if its not until Sept it would be for a good reason and not just to make you stress more!!
