Interviews, jobs & sponsorshipDo ya feel lucky, Punk? Well do ya? If so, here's the place to swap the hot gen on who's sponsoring or employing, their selection criteria, and where those oh so elusive first jobs can be spotted in the wild. Watch out for the tumbleweeds...
Hi!
I hav nt been shtlistd. I got da flowing email n msg in ma workspace msgs.
Dear so n so,
Your application reference number is: EY/08/06/xxx
Applied date: 08/06/2008
Please be advised your application has been reviewed but has not been shortlisted on 9/6/2008. Please feel free to apply for other opportunities that are a suitable match with your skills and experience.
The details of the job you have applied are:
Job Code: CADP
Job Title: Cadet Pilot
Department: Flight Operations
Location: Abu Dhabi
Well firstly your age is an advantage, I started flying when I was 16 and there are ups and downs with that but mostly it gives you a head start, I know people who have gotten into aviation in their 30's!
If you have the financial means, do go and try and get your PPL, You dont have to rush it, take it slow, if you dont have the financial means, at least do the ground school, showing that you know the material looks good during interviews for scholarships and cadet pilot selection
other programs will come around, industry is growing, especially in asia and the middle east....
As I understand, the UAE expats are the first of 6 worldwide selections, they are the only ones this month, all others are next month, except 2 locations who will follow in early August. Europe/South Africa/Australia will be next.
Those who live in these locations will be contacted next, the other after this.
Any other information is just utter B**llocks.
EYZ, where did you find this info out from? and how reliable is it? there is a lot of seemingly untruthful posts in this thread, its hard to believe anyone. are you saying that assessment day in australia wont be til august ??
... nah tis cool man, i get ya ! hopefully all us aussies will be contacted soon !
Just to stir up a bit of debate have any of you guys been following the Emirates thread on the forum? Seems a few US guys are really dissapointed with flying over there. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this? Chap in my office is thinking of applying after reading the advert and article in Flight International.
Are you prepared for the middle east? Pros and cons? etc. Really interested to hear from people with regards to this.
Cheers (oh and good luck to everyone!)
I'm agree with EYZ my application has been shortlisted too but didnt recieved any further information regarding to assessment might b bcuz im not a UAE expat i've called HR department couple of days ago and they told me that assessment will be expected in july. So hold ur breath and wait. InshAllah every1 will get the chance.
