ctc application

hi there,

I am in the process of applying for ctc and am slightly concerned after speaking to some friends.

They have first time passes in theory and the IR. I dont have this. ( I passed 9 subjects first time and partielled the IR.) Does this mean I have no hope with applying or am I just being paranoid!!!!

I would really appreciate some views and guidance about what others have put on the application form.

Thanks a million,
Regards,

Ali1

Interesting to note that they still don't do electronic versions of that form that you could download from their website. There's nothing on that form that could not be filled using MS Word, you could even e-mail them ID pictures & scans of all the documents they ask for. That would save time & money to everyone. So why don't they do it? My best guess is that they're still interested in seeing your handwriting, any spelling mistakes you might make & other similar things. Therefore, when you fill it in, think twice and do a draft of all your answers on a separate sheet or on your computer!

clearfortheoption,

when did you get your aknowledgement letter.

i got mine at the beginning of this month and it said i would be called within the next two months.

there is currently only 8 in the hold pool and i don't think there is a AQC running in april.

Hi,

I received my acknowledgement letter in November and I am going to attend phase 2 in April...so there's a few months wait to say the least.

From my knowledge the hold pool is empty and they are desperately looking for people...so now seems to be the right time to get on the scheme.

Anyone else attending phase 2 in April?

i was told by a mate of mine than he and seven others who did AQC in march have been placed in the pool, 4 have been sent to ej for assestment.

strangely though i think he only applied in Nov/Dec and had completed all the stages (1-3) by the end of Jan ish. Strange in the sense that jmc1980 et al have had to wait 5 months to get a phase 2 date.

maybe signalling a big backlog even if the pool is more or less empty?????????

good luck to all.

How do you all know how many are in the holding pool? And what is an AQC? I'm guessing it is some name for Stage 2/3/4? I did all my application online and have recieved no actual bits of paper from CTC as of yet.

Going to Stage 2 in April, applied in late January, got a response and sent back my answers and accepted in less than a fortnight. Go figure!

screwballs,

i'm guessing that you have applied for the CTC ab-initio scheme, not the ATP scheme which this thread is about.

if i'm wrong you should know what the AQC is.

good luck

Screwballs, are you talking about the CTC McAlpine Cadet scheme or the CTC ATP Scheme for Frozen ATPLers?

I think this thread is for the Frozen ATPLers.

I, too, have been told to expect a 1 - 2 month wait from this month before being called for Stage 2. Ho hum.

Oops, you beat me to it joe!

clearfortheoption and jmc1980

Was there a choice of dates for phase 2. Trying to figure out how many are called / how many are waiting, to fill places for an AQC to be able to start.

Do you guys know if April screening is for a april start on the AQC or have people been assigned those places.

Heard on the grape that another big take from the pool is expected soon by a very reputable airline, not sure how many are in it at the moment (the pool) but from what i can gather it is certainly in single figures.

Either way i want to be involved as i'm sure you guys do.

Manflex any info? Are you part of the Academy or previous grad?

joe,

There are 16 of us attending phase 2 on the 16th of April, and phase 3 takes place the next week.

I don't know if there's an AQC in April though...

That's great news about the next big take from the pool. From what I've been told the pool is empty, and airlines are waiting to take on pilots as soon as they finish the AQC.

Now's our chance guys...
