Saudia cargo end 777 and 748 ops

A poster on airliners.net has has said SV are not happy paying the high lease prices and have grounded the aircraft since some time to be returned to lessors, at the same time they are trying to renegotiate the 777 deal as they want to keep those, thought all the aircraft were owned by them.

Uh oh

I have old information but the last I know the Saudi 747s were leased from Air Atlanta Icelandic.
I think 6 of them in Saudi cargo colours, and then another 2 passenger ones for Hajj flights.

@Aeroshizzle:
You are mixing a bit here. Newscaster is talking about the -8s and 777 that SV operates/used to operate.

Several operators fly 747-400s in SV colours, including Air Atlanta Icelandic (cargo and pax) and ACT/MyCargo (cargo only).

No really - HZ-AI3 and HZ-AI4. Think they were 2 of the machines that Atlas decided not to take, both delivered in 2013.

I take that back, just checked and there they are, bright as a button in the production list. These two have completed passed me by, so my apologies to Airliners.net for this one.

The problem is that they are much more expensive than the leased B744 aircraft.
