refurbished ADB AN22?
Recent pictures circulating on web: looks like the sole commercial AN22 is in process of being refurbished?

Anyone any idea if Antonov Airlines has plans to reactivate it again on the cargo charter market?
Would be a re-entry after years of inactivity?
regards,

Good to see that amazing aircraft being "refurbished". That picture does not show how monstrous the AN22 is so here's a poor picture I took at the Paris Air Show in June, 1965. Sorry about the quality - it was scanned from an old slide:
.
Last AN22 I saw flew over Berkshire on 21 January 2007. Fantastic sound which vibrated all through the house.

AN-22 at Manston 1986
Manston June 1986.
The AN-22 which supported/transported Russian helicopters at the international championships at Castle Ashby.
Aircraft cleaned up and ready to taxi out, note the Royal Air Force large sticker on the wheel housing!!!
Taken off the side of an RAF transport vehicle, put on after all doors closed up on the Aircraft.
I often wondered what the reaction was by the ground crew after the aircraft landed at its base.
