Stay out of Cargolux Italia

Unbelievable working conditions.....
Sitting around Africa for days without getting any duty hour credit towards your salary, constant changes, reserve days in LUX and in MXP meaning you have to arrange and pay for your own HOTAC.
Different contract for different nationalities.......
All of that for very little money and a lot of frustration.....just to fly a "big" aeroplane......
People willing to pay for the type rating.
Where is this profession going

@Ray Cosmic..

Hear hear…

You asked for this yourself, and you probably thought you were bloody smart. Now reality kicks in and you start crying…that is just plain pathetic.
Nevertheless, get your act together and either call the number I gave you…or strike…or even better, do both !!

ICV

I agree STAY OUT OF CARGOLUX ITALIA

this bunch crazy idiots who cry in their defence that "We just needed a job", pretend that they don't know what sort of amunition they are giving DR and Dicky to cancel the collective work agreement on main line and then try to drink a beer with the boys in the Britannia.....

Maybe that direct command or jumping the que was blissfully funny when you did it - I sure it was. I hear that you have be Italian to go to the States or get the wages you need to pay off the overdraft you created to get the type rating; or even pay for the stay in the 5 star Ibis in Lux.

I heard recently that a certain captain who struggled with mainline guys to qualify is now a TRI there now. WOW!!! please ask to have the boxes painted off the tail.

You ICV guys dont pretend to be ignorant, we're still not gonna buy you a sympathy beer

Stand up

Making new hires pay for their TR was already on the agenda in 2004 but stopped at the very first moment by the LUX government after an article in the Spiegel, sorry only in German but try googletranslate

Luftfahrt: Frachtriese Cargolux lockt Billig-Piloten ins Cockpit - SPIEGEL ONLINE

With all the clowns north and south of the alpls more bull**** will come....
CV Italy makes big losses year after year. So they need the cheapest pilots, regardless of quality/qualification and soon they will have P2F. Or of course MPs buddys.... Italian unions seem to be one of the weakest in Europe.
It s now time for u guys in Italy to show that you have balls. There is more Africa for you around the corner.
As someone said earlier, Silkway Italy is an option for you guys.

This job is completely f***ed.

If loads of cadets are willing to pay 30000€ to fly a Ryanair B737-800 or Wizzair A320 with sharklet for a rubbish salary and horrible T&Cs, there will be even more assholes willing to pay 30000 euros to fly a B747-400 or an A380. At least they feel important on their facebook page when the show their selfies taken with their smartphone.

Anyway, the B747-400 is no more difficult to operate than a B737NG, a frozen ATPL cadet can do that right after celebrating their 19th birthday.

Airline managers know how ridiculous is this new generation pilots. Yes they are modern slaves.

Ah... Another question...if you took care of the company for the last 40 years, WHY did you let ICV start operations and develop if then you think it is such a problem for you?????

@Benito....hmmm....I suppose you are with ICV....but I wonder what other lowlife company dumped you before that.

Don't forget that CLX is paying your salary despite the fact that - true to Italian attitude - you make huge losses every year and embarrass the good name of CLX. You are just a bunch of scabs, with no pride and self respect whatsoever....

Sorry to get in the way of a perfectly good Italian bashing, but what has being Italian got to do with how bad this airline is? Why the insults and the prejudice? Is this the only dodgy or disreputable outfit in Europe, or do other countries have their own examples?

Where did the rot of low-cost crap carriers and pay-to-fly start anyway? (hint, it was northern Europe)

When I worked for Alitalia, some of our european "colleagues" (not all!) would often attack our attempts at defending our terms and conditions by saying we were lazy, spoiled primadonnas with too many privileges, now it appears that a single-aircraft airline in Milan is proof we're a "banana-land" or "part of Africa"? And who thought up and created this dog-and-pony show anyway, wasn't it Cargolux management? Are they all Italians at headquarters in Luxembourg?

There is a LOT wrong with my country, but those in glass houses should not cast stones.

Hawkey stay calm and wash your mouth when you talk about italians and ICV.
if ICV is still operating is because is convenient for CLX. If they were losing money they would have been already closed down or in Lux are so stupid to make it Happens?
So dont offend and live your life.

The "Trust Inn" (Goggle it) local to LUX airport was negotiable on room rates for long-term and/or regular offenders ... I lived in the place for a few months, very comfortable accommodation.

I second all the above and wonder how long we will have to way before the OP and hawkeye red can manage to gather some intelligent thoughts, since their earlier conclusions were rather crass and poor in content.

Average Senior First Officer in Cargolux Italia is 5000€ net, after tax.
The junior ones non-type rated start from 1800€ net first year.
