Global Africa Aviation (Harare Int'l) is a new Zimbabwean cargo carrier operating a fleet of two MD-11(F)s, Z-GAB (msn 48746) and Z-GAC (msn 48756), leased from AV Cargo Airlines (London Gatwick).
Lewis Kling, the director of the now defunct Avient Aviation (Z3, Harare Int'l), told ch-aviation that talks are currently underway with lessors over the delivery of a third freighter, Z-BVT (msn 48410), currently in Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta undergoing maintenance.
According to Kling, though the aircraft are sourced from AV Cargo, Global Africa Aviation's commercial operations have been contracted through a different entity.
Like Avient and AV Cargo, Global Africa Aviation will likely operate in the intra-African as well as Africa-Europe markets.

Zimbabwe ans EU black list of...
Can anyone explain how come a defunct and corrupt state as Zimbabwe is not on the EU black list? How can Mugabe (in future his wife) and close 'friends' deliver EU-acceptable AOC's? What's the price of an AOC in Zim? Cheap? I guess paying in $?

Any AV Cargo ex-employees who may want to find a way out of this and pick up some of the pieces are welcome to PM me.
I have no affiliation to AV Cargo, nor any of the spin offs. My name is on the post for all to see. I have absolutely agenda other than establishing a professional, respected and sustainable business. Huge amounts of cargo are being hauled around the continent by non-African carriers and there is no reason why this situation should persist. The skills and the know-how are here in Africa, we just need to add a big dose of honesty and transparency to the management structures.
I would also like to restore some dignity and respect to cargo operators from Southern Africa. There have been some spectacular failures in the past and those close to the industry in this region should not have to tolerate this kind of thing.

I enjoyed flying with the folks that were there when I was, the senior management were appalling. Obviously, me and the Chief Pilot weren't considered enough, we had to have the wisdom of a . . . best I not say what I think he is, it's not polite.
Still, in my time, at least the crews were paid . . . even if the bills weren't.
