Freight DogsFinally a forum for those midnight prowler types who utilise the unglamorous parts of airports that many of us never get to see. Freight Dogs is for pilots and crew who operate mostly without SLF.
the same as the 744 does....just a bit more it !! good to see ol "bucket and spade international airport" get something new. Did have a scare the other day when i saw a 767 parked at Harrods with "Ryan" painted on the side.
Amazing that this article or any of the links on it mention who is actually operating the aircraft (GSS). It's not like BAWC put in all the hard work getting it into service, all they have to do it sell the space.
They also forgot (!!) to mention who owns the said -8F...Atlas Air.
Any of you know what might happen to the -400Fs that GSS is using (leased from Atlas Air)...are GSS/BAWC planning to return them to Atlas or are they planning on using them after the third -8F arrives?
Atlas could certainly use the lift capability of an additional 3 airframes...
GSS and Panalpina are swapping 744s for 748s one for one, TNT returned one when they got their 777. That is a total of six more aircraft Atlas will have back in the short term. I don't think they have customers for them yet.
We keep hearing differing numbers about how many or if any are coming back to the Atlas fleet...although, as things go at Atlas, the only thing that is a constant is change!!
