Keep the right seat warm, if they're pushing the same crew for a 10+ block hour day, as far as I can tell.

Continuing

For those who want to fly B737-300; All the ops are nightshift, with minimum rest time, lets say 36 hrs according to CAAC regulations, layover station in nasty dirty and inappropiate hotels, they dont care about that.

The main staff are a group of mediocre, with lack of seriousness, liers and falsehood that dont do anything that mislead and fraud you.Dont believe in the commute contract that is another lie.
Breach of contract all the time.
Again STAY AWAY FROM Yangtze River

Carrusel,

Could you elaborate a little bit more about it.
I heard they are offering the 6 on 2 off pattern instead of the 7.5 consecutive a month they had before.

Dont trust on them they will tell you in the beggining many beautiful things to catch you but in the end will not fulfill, they dont care about the contract once you are in they do what ever they want, always breach the contract. Believe me

Just dont forget where they learn those culture....... from across the straits.
the same Dynasty clowns are running the show.
When I was there many moons ago....Its as simple as taking a page out of your contract and replace it with a new one and just shaft it into your mail BOX..

ok so what we can do?

Hi guys, I have read all your posts, but...
my current contract with my nice European airline, with a handy base in my hometown, comfortable daytime roster with very little out-of-base overnights, etc. etc. will finish in few weeks and I have been told by my boss that there are no chances whatsoever of a contract renewal.
Now I am here in Shanghai for a screening with YRE and they offer a salary. What can I do? What would you do if you were in my place? I understand your points and I value your opinins, and yes sure I am just terrified by the awful experiences you have had in YRE, but I really can't afford to remain unemployed.
The fact is: in Europe there is no work. Not anymore. Finished. Off. Kaput. Terminče. When you face with this fact, all the remaining points become pointless.
To be really honest with you, I have no other chances at the time being.

Acute culture shock occurs when western styled contractual employment standards are not fulfilled in Asia.

This is understandable of expats who have never left their mother ship. Welcome to the Third world of fish heads and rice.

No rights and no labor laws to protect you. So, if you dare to come, don't bring a whole lot of baggage. Chuck your lofty expectations and plan to roll over to be screwed, because it's just laid out that way. You only come for the money, and maybe to build time. That's it.

(I don't work at Yangtze)

I would give it a try to Air Atlanta Icelandic, if you are 744 rated. Currently hiring and expanding... As the topic is on YZR, PM if you'd like further info.

Anybody at Yangtze River that could share some info about the present situation nowadays?
I have been offered a B787 contract there. I did not they operate those. They monthly salary sounds asa good as with Hainan but based in Shanghai.
Any info regarding routes and how the company treats expats would be highly appreciated.
Cheers.
