Freight Dogs Finally a forum for those midnight prowler types who utilise the unglamorous parts of airports that many of us never get to see. Freight Dogs is for pilots and crew who operate mostly without SLF.

DHL UK based in Leipzig

Hi Gents!

Any info appreciated:

What are the routes out of LEJ? Gothenburg (GOT)?

How does commuting in/out LEJ work? Can you Jump seat on DHL aircraft after a duty?

Roster example appreciated?

Do you need to hold your own accommodation in LEJ During a duty period?

Time to upgrade these days (Command) with previous heavy jet time as FO?

Staff travels on other airlines?

What is the cabin crew like?

The cabin crew are very big, very quiet and all look like a big box, they do not serve tea or coffee and you will probably never see them ever again as they get off-loaded as soon as you open the cargo door!

The routes out of LEJ; - They are there.

Commuting in/out of LEJ; - Works fine in my 72' Mini Morris. Got friends who's got 2CVs, that seems to work well too.

Accomodation in LEJ; - You should get a shag-flat, yes.

Time to upgrade; - The command course is about 3 weeks, pal.

Staff travelS on other airlines; - Yes, you do get to travel as staff on other airlines. But you will have to pay for it as all the rest, pal.

Cabin crew; - They are soaking wet and come in boxes of 1x1x1m and you need to blow them (up).

Hope these advices will bring you closer to our beautiful machines

Do people choose to fly for DHL on flight sim??

Of course if you do, the best route would be a BRU - ARN, in real time, departing at about 0400L. Of course you have to have been awake for about 24 hours before hand, then sat in a crew room for a few hours. Then just when you arrive at ARN and wanna go to bed, you wait for the sun to get really bright, then you fly for another hour to HEL. Make sure you shine a bright spotlight in your eyes for this sector! You then drive for nearly an hour in a taxi in heavy traffic before finally collapsing into your bed.
