Dogs on freight dog flights

Folks forgive a rotary intrusion but i'm about to ship my hopefully 'live' dog from KL to Tunis and have a choice of putting mans best friend on EK cargo or as baggage on KLM. When you have live animals as freight does anyone check them and is the hold kept at a reasonable temp/ pressure etc ? Any insights into how they are handled during layovers at DBX ? Thanks . BG

No. (not whilst flying)

is the hold kept at a reasonable temp/ pressure etc ?
Yes

The baggage compt is a cargo compt so there is no difference. If prices are roughly equal I would go for the shortest travel time.
