Freight Dogs Finally a forum for those midnight prowler types who utilise the unglamorous parts of airports that many of us never get to see. Freight Dogs is for pilots and crew who operate mostly without SLF.

CL44-O and Shorts Belfast

Alas, it does appear that this link should be re -directed.
All concentration is now to be diverted to ensuring that both aircraft are, at least, preserved intact and are able to be viewed. Whilst the Guppy is not a British product, its contribution to the Stansted-based company Transmeridian Air Cargo during the 70's through to its move to Heavylift, was of great significance as it allowed outsize pieces of cargo-previously only transportable by sea, to be hauled by air in a fraction of the shipping time. We therefore hope that a UK site can be secured for 'The Skymonster'.

Similarly the Belfast was an important tool for the Royal Air Force for the carriage of large military hardware. Whilst we are aware that one other Belfast is already preserved in the UK, we sincerely hope that a suitable base can quickly be found for G-BEPS.
Interested principals are invited to contact the CL44 Association direct via its website (cl44.org). Visits to either aircraft will be arranged with the prior approval of Heavylift Cargo Airlines, owners of both aircraft.

As these are anonymous forums the origins of the contributions may be opposite to what may be apparent. In fact the press may use it, or the unscrupulous, or sciolists*, to elicit certain reactions.

*"sciolist"... Noun, archaic. "a person who pretends to be knowledgeable and well informed".
