Freight Dogs Finally a forum for those midnight prowler types who utilise the unglamorous parts of airports that many of us never get to see. Freight Dogs is for pilots and crew who operate mostly without SLF.

This news is terrible!. . . .The musical tempo of aviation's game of musical chairs appears to be increasing.

Fleet reduction numbers requested when able please. . .

Operating 4 MDs and 1.5 DC10s. Tell me this, how can you operate half an aeroplane?

How much longer is this going to last? I wrote a warning a while back. I knew this was coming. I had seen this before, twice! Up like a rocket, down like a rock, and then repeat. Evergreen, Kalitta, Polar, and Atlas, be forewarned! Management is NOT your friend and any downturn is their ticket to bust the unions. At the first sniff of downturn.....ta-ta. Then comes the reorganization, with lower pay and an even lower quality of life!!

That's really great Dr.T, and I'm sure you were the only one who "saw that coming" or "wrote a warning a while back" or again "had seen it before".

How about educating everybody and giving them a solution to fix the problem?

Therein lies the problem. There is no easy fix. I am just glad I did what I did before the train wreck. I will tell you this though. There are a lot of guys who will be fighting amongst themselves and when they get the furlough notice will blame the other guy. Its like fiddling while Rome burns and Nero laughs to the bank.

Fogrunner,
Sorry to hear about this. You might follow the aircraft.
Strong hunch they get picked up by Fedex or UPS, you
might want to apply with them.

Thanks SFD. UPS app window is closed, FedEx have not interviewed in probably two years. A friend of mine at FedEx told me they are not expecting new-hires for at least another two-three years. All the over 60 guys coming back from the panel to the front seats.

I thought FedEx had converted all their DC's to MD's except a handful only to scrap? doesn't seem plausible. Good luck Gemini Aviators

There are still some tens in the air. And they will not be scrapped as far I know, more like parked.

Fogrunner,

Netjets is hiring, friend of mine (61 years old ex Airline) just started, excellent terms and conditions, a rock solid. well run company.

Smaller jet, but the checks are good, best of luck.
