CX Trainers

With this recent escalation in trying to circumvent the training ban, all trainers need to to put some serious thought into considering to resign.

I keep hear about how you are all doing this to "give back" to the profession. If you were actually serious about that you'd be stepping down right now.

You are training our cheaper replacements! You are helping the company bring in and establish a lower payscale. You are deteriorating those pilots careers you "so want to help out."

I keep hearing the excuses. You can't single out their group and ask them to do more. Yet this conveniently dismisses the fact the all the pilots below the rank of Captain and delaying their upgrades, some potentially for many years, in trying to bring better RPs, housing (whether the old scheme or HKPA) and pay to all.

Furthermore, you are enabling the company to bring in lower and lower experienced "pilots." We have never had experience levels this low before in these numbers. How many Zero-to-Heros do we now have sitting in our flight decks? Our checking system here already has an industry wide reputation about being some of the worst and most punishing, even before these Joe Blows have been hired off the streets. Why do you want to be part of something like this? Why are you actively helping out in this race to the bottom?

The senior pilots at this company need to start to man up and lead.

You're working for an airline that is run by Honkies and owned by a British Colonial parent company who hires Chinese pilots. There's a reason why people work long hours in HK, they want to get ahead and if that means throwing their colleagues under the bus then so be it. Welcome to the jungle.

Why would they resign? Its about their personal income/allowance! Same goes to why people are not resigning from CX.

To blame the trainers is not quite right
Yes agreed with the above but its only part of the problem
Years and years of neglect by ourselves and the general nous of the pilot body has led to the current situation couple that with past union antics who sold us under the bus and a ruthless unwilling non good faith bargaining employee ( there true colors on display for all to see right now )......makes it all add up
I just wish one trainer would zip it , and stop saying i told you so!

CX: "OK, collect your repatriation ticket."
T: "No, I'm just going back to line captain."
CX: "You're employed as a trainer and you've just resigned, goodbye."
T: "Errmm . . . "

They've got you terrified of your own shadow. You will not be fired for leaving training. We do NOT work for The Firm. You can leave training any time - there is nothing that says once you enter this management appointment you must remain in it forever. Where do you even get this crap from???

But please, I'd like to hear some more excuses...

Yes it did. RF (now a sim instructor and has a child flying for CX) did exactly that. It was a response to a coordinated resignation by a number of STC's.

It would never have stood up in a regular court of law, but there are 2 things to remember here:

1. CX is a massive employer in Hong Kong and the courts kowtow to CX's whims and desires.
2. Who runs out if money first? (The same "invitation" made to the FTA instructors). If you don't know the ongoing saga of the FTA issue, ask around.
