I can't wait

It is interesting watching and read all the speculation and fear about the end of this month.

I long ago established a 'don't give a sh!t' attitude toward this company, but I have to admit, I am rather excited to see what further cock ups these muppets, supposedly running this show, can make.

Unless the 'big' changes are positive to the pilots, I think they will just make the hole bigger in this sinking ship

I agree too.

I've come to a point of being numb by the constant fighting over the past 20 years!

If they think it is beneficial for themselves they will do it anyway. If it is beneficial for us they will rather sink the ship than give anything away.

They know they need the cos08 guys to go to 65, but they will try and spin it as if they are doing you a favour and want something in return. They just cannot help themselves.

You mean Cos99 guys, agreed..
Although BPP and clear and simple 25 Housing are very important!
Our primary concern is to ensure we don't half fix their crewing problem by accepting Cos17 (now16) without using this "leverage"( as has been mentioned) for the betterment of all contracts and rostering , HKPA & a multitude of other things they will throw empty promises at..

We are not in a rush. They "shall" fix all or we a united front will hold off mediocire short term temptations. This is their screw up and our turn to sit on our hands. It'll only become more favorable for us here on in.

Of course you'll get those posts from management 2016 joiners subtly trying to spread doom and gloom. I spoke to GMA sometime ago about his forum envolvement, quite hilarious when he found out I was in the other court.

They are bullies and not very good ones at that!
Proudly steer the coarse folk..

I am fully ready for any tricks management tries to pull.

My clown suit is cleaned, fitted and ready. The circus season will be full tilt and there is little doubt of alternate employment for me.

I too

Am not a fan of the airline anymore mostly because they have destroyed the brand AND loyalty. I personally think it's beyond fixing now, sort of like a bad marriage. Please be careful what you wish for though, it may come true. A lot of our colleagues have a vested interest in the mere survival of the airline and might not share our sentiments. The impact can be big and will affect different people in different ways. Not everyone is like the person on the other thread. A lot of our colleagues have wives and kids and dogs and toys etc... I do not "wish", nor can I "Not Wait", for something bad to happen to anyone and that includes Air Profit whom I believe is just a victim of what has happened over the past few years. No, AP, it is not a dig at you.

Let's hope for the best and I can wait! The union is in a tough place right now trying to balance what to do. You would not want people getting hurt on your watch nor would I. I would suspect they are trying to save as many jobs as possible right now and/or not lose housing.

These are just my thoughts though. By the way, the company paid back people on SLS. Not saying you should or should not take it. And SARS nearly put the company out of business. It seems they might be doing that on their own now.

Visionary. You truly amaze me with your perseverance. With each post, you confirm more and more that you are a management shill. Still, you keep coming back and try to spread more fear. Keep up the good work! CC forever, no matter what the eventual deal. I am just 'doing my job'.

Which appears to be quite unique:
Leaders that dont lead.
Accountants that don't seem accountable.
Hedgers that don't hedge( well not so one would notice).
Communicators that don't communicate.
Ops directors that don't fly.
It is a funny old world.

And SARS nearly put the company out of business.
If crew, you're either young, junior, inexperienced or naive, possibly all.
If none of them, then a management troll who's being disingenuous.

Care to back up your throw away line with Swires short arm/deep pocket bank balance statement from the period? Thought not.
Go away and grow a pair or grow up.!

Anyone that suggests that CX is suffering financially really hasn't worked here that long. Over 20 years, all i've heard is that the 'sky is falling'....year after year after year. The reality is that management salary and bonuses have soared. Don't believe a word of their doom mongering. It's a worn, tired record.

CX is not suffering financially, they are just not ready to invest in the future and be the airline that they should. What they have announced recently is basically that you, me , and the rest of the employees are gonna be asked to keep the ship streamline by rowing harder so they can guarantee a nice ROI to the business owners and nice bonuses to themselves. It takes a lot more than simply getting 48 A50 to compete with the rest.
You need to spend money to make money...and they simply not gonna do that.

Its simple there is a cost to doing business, a going rate.
If you can't afford the staff and or need G day workers you have to question your business model.

Perhaps this is all part of a larger plan?

After all, come 2047 China will surely take back negotiations for traffic rights to and from Hong Kong

If CX is still majority owned by foreigners, their share price will tank as they will lose all the plum routes, hence only option is to sell

Herein lies the rub!

Every buyers wants to buy cheap and every seller wants to get the maximum price.

But Swires (and the Chinese) are well aware of the fact that China do not need to buy CX because they have their own Big 4 carriers

Thus, only option for the seller where there is an unwilling buyer is to sell cheap, no choice in the matter apart from closing down

So, the only thing left to do is to ensure one extracts as much value as possible in the run up to 2047

Meanwhile, transform the group into a management team that simply manages property much like how hotel management companies operate
