RC is not a member and can work as many G days as he wants. Maybe he is in line for a training job, or better yet, a management position. He has made his own bed. Let him lie in it... for the rest of his career!
Never forget we have many despicable and self-serving twats working in this airline. He is not alone.

....and this is how the wanquers get into training...he has constantly thrown his hat in the training ring to get rejected..as the already good resource has dried up..the rot sets in..the days of quality trying are sadly pretty much over..ticks and boxes.

Perhaps RC was kind enough to fill some gaps in the roster left by the 3 recently dismissed commuters.
Those irresponsible commuters. Paxing into Hkg prior to operating.
As the GMO rightly says;
1. When paxing on an aircraft, the whole flight provides an opportunity for rest and relaxation. And
2. A 12 hour flight in a business class seat provides a 12 hour rest opportunity.
That'll teach the Aussie commuters. A 9 hour "rest and relaxation" is obviously not long enough.
A bit like the the 3rd floor hero's who show up for a long haul/split duty/red eye, having spent the day in the office, claiming playing solitaire at their desk doesn't count towards duty time. It's legal. (remembering they use legal as a euphemism for safe)
Fascinating. Would be interesting to see the FAA/JAR's take on that.
Watching the DFO in his death throes had until now been mildly amusing. Now he's less than pathetic.
However, I am intrigued that a flight requiring 4 crew can be equally as easy with 3 crew.
I'm looking forward to him explaining how no pay rise can be equally as rewarding as a pay rise.

How much time did those commuters have before their duty on arrival into HK?
Poor guys... absolutely ridiculous by the company especially now with the crewing situation...

Well obviously the company is totally flush with pilots, so much so that they can afford to fire 3 guys for committing an " unforgivable sin "
which as forward looking Wanchai stated is the same type of sin that the 3rd floor regularily commit .
But I guess they go to confession first to be absolved of their sins by repeating 3 times " I am not tired , I am not tired , I am not tired , seriously
One company 2 sets of rules mhhhh!

Odd how anytime the company asks you to bend the rules it's okay because of expediency but when you want to do something no wai .
Wheels up it isn't the hypocrisy that made you sick it was lack of sleep . Lack of sleep can be worse than being drunk. It certainly affects your decision making
my understanding of the FTLs is when operating to ports more than 6 hrs from base you get the greater of, the previous duty ,14 hours, or a sleep opportunity between 10pm and 8 am your base time .
They can quote roster disruption all they like , if you aren't rested don't work .
you are correct they knew before you left they would need you . BUT they could have rearranged some other crew to afford you a sleep pattern, that takes time ,effort and a compliant workforce None of which they currently have
What happened to counseling , loss of profit share , hell even forfeiture of a months pay . No we would much rather be vindictive and fire them
Am I the only one that sees 49 shades of grey here . They can't afford to subdue the workforce with another 49 dismissals, the airline would come to an almost immediate stop . So let's try with 3 and see if that has the desired effect

The next 5 terminations will come when the time affords itself. You have been warned. This is a mans game and the pilots are merely boys. We actually like making these terminations in times like these because WE HAVE ALL THE POWER and because we can.
The pilots will do nothing and will soon fall into line. The Peoples Director is watching very carefully as who is the next to step out of line.
To My Bonus
The Management.

As the GMO rightly says;

2. A 12 hour flight in a business class seat provides a 12 hour rest opportunity.
Really?Just before the 49ers were sacked, an LHR guy was sacked for arriving in HKG from LHR in early afternoon and then operating 251 that same day.

Woah. 3rd post in 15 years from the rooster there. I don't know, should I be getting my camera out or something so I can bestow this grand moment upon my grand kids? I mean, at this rate he might be dead before I see post number 5.

Those of you calling for a public lynching might want to check his roster starting from 06 March. There might also be some confusion over which RC you are talking about.
I'm not a friend of either of them. Just keeping it real.
