Upgrade figures 2014 and beyond

Question to the trainers out there:

How many did we actually achieve in 2014? Failure rate?
What is the plan for 2015, which fleets??

Thanks.

Sam, you should know by now that the Trainers will be the last ones to know the answers to any of those questions.
I suspect even the Heads of the Training Dept don't even know yet

40 commands, 80 new SO's and 80 JFO upgrades on airbus alone has been suggested. More in 2016!

Of course, that depends how many wannabe's fill the 50+ TC slots on the fleet.

Just spoke to a BA STC recently. Their R-L Command course is 8 sectors + 4 sector Check ride. Pass rate - nearly 100%.
There's a good money saver - reduce the number of sectors on our check - sorry 'course' - from about 60!! And we've known the candidate for, what, 12 years?? It ain't THAT hard.

Thanks Silberfuchs and Hugo. Any idea about the 2015 plan? Other fleets?

STW,

You work for a company that is wiping their backside with your CoS, and you're worried about upgrade numbers? Seriously, it's time to reprioritize.

How about this... If they keep running three man to Europe, I guarantee the upgrade and hiring numbers will be less over time. Don't suppose you care much about that though.

Siberfuchs,

I know it's a uniquely CX thing but judging from the increasing pages and pages and pages of Cat B C and D in the seniority list I'm not sure we're that close to BA. If 33 passed command course at CX and 33 who came up to do a course, got Cat D (refused a command course) you'd call it a 100% pass rate?

BA don't even have a "denied a command course" list.

Just an observation.

Cathay will catch up in 10 heard time with the rest of the industry.

These days opening a thread on pprune becomes a bit like starting a morning circle in a day care center...

Sigh..
