Latest negotiations

I have just read the latest update from AT
Very interesting and aggressively confrontational choice of words , smacks of intimidation to me but that's okay because the company is the one doing it.
It looks very much like CC is going to be a necessity So bring it on

It's amazing how she is brainwashed into thinking they only have a certain amount of $$$$ to allocate for pay

I don't think she is brainwashed, rather just hoping we will believe her negotiating 101 strategy so she can get a big bonus next year. However, when flights are cancelled due to lack of crew, the buck stops at the GMA. When crew don't have any goodwill, or pressing financial incentive to go to work, how will they crew airplanes?? There comes a point where the most cost effective thing to so is give your employees a raise..... Or else they might just not give a rats behind. It will be interesting if RH's flight home for the holidays is cancelled due to crew shortage. Then, he finally would be affected by our plea for being treated fairly. It seems as if this is going to go on for a few months... When the profit comes out we will truly see the companies bluff. Perhaps that is when things will escalate beyond complying with our contract.

"It has been said that most revolutions are not caused by revolutionaries in the first place, but the stupidity and brutality of governments"

An excellent quote. Any student of history can attest to the accuracy of those words.

We are obviously very close to reaching an agreement and all that remains to avoid a full on confrontation is for the Company to concede a tiny, teeny, weeny, little bit.....

The encouraging update from the DFO on Friday, followed by the intimidating and threatening tone of the GMA yesterday would be puzzling if not a recognized pattern of brinksmanship...strikingly similar to that shown from management in the late 90's.....

Once again they seem unable, or unwilling, to stop themselves from stepping over a one hundred dollar opportunity to save a penny.

Very sad.

Raven, I think you're missing the point, this is no longer about percentages or money but rather about power. These swire mis-managers would rather ruin this airline than be seen to have conceded defeat to the pilots. It defies all belief really.
