London Basing

Does anyone have an opinion as to when/ if CX will offer another slot(s) for FO in LON after this one closes?
Disregard, I have the answers now.
Thanks

True enough, but judging by the fact that I would be a bit farther down than that, and I've been here nearly a decade, I would think that this person definitely isn't a "kid".

I would imagine that it would depend on:

(a)Whether you'd give up your London FO slot to him and
(b)Whether he's happy for you to give him the BJ or not.

Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the
Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of
the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt
thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then
proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being
the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand
Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight,
shall snuff it."

BJR,

What's the story.....you want a base but don't want it in case you get it and have to give up the Hong Kong perks. Or are you going to persuade those in front of you to give up their slot?

He probably just wants to know whether he'll get it or not, which is a fair question! Frequently people bid then pull at the last moment or find they can't take a base as they don't have the right to live and work there. If you're selling a flat, the timing can be crucial.

Hey Jetsam, I'm sitting at #3. Happy to remove my bid for an administrative fee of HKD2M.

Disappointment?

I met someone a couple of weeks ago that knows a Cathay S/O who has been with the Company for two years.

Apparently, in two years time when he becomes a F/O, he will be able to choose wherever he wants to be based and will be able to return to the U.K.

I think that some home truths will become apparent in a couple of years time.

Or has something changed?

With your seniority BJ, you would have had the basing if you had bid in the first release. What happened, hung on for a few more months of allowances?
