Fragrant HarbourA forum for the large number of pilots (expats and locals) based with the various airlines in Hong Kong. Air Traffic Controllers are also warmly welcomed into the forum.
There are aircraft everywhere except where they are supposed to be Bays at the airport are in very short supply with lengthy delays still happening Kitty city is packed with crew all waiting for an aircraft It will eventually sort itself out, don't stress it will happen when it happens
A bit different from the CX spokeswoman upbeat assessment in the Standard "we plan to operate our flights as scheduled. So far there have been some delays due to air traffic flow control as a result of the bad weather but nothing major"
There are plenty of aircraft ready to go. many are down towards HAECO, towed there to keep out of the way during the typhoon. Now there is no-one to tow them back and no bys to tow them to. Landing aircraft are aving to wait for bays. Check-in at the airport is chaos hence many delayed flights.
Have a (non pilot) friend who's been stuck airside at the airport since yesterday evening. Apparently the ground staff are totally overwhelmed with punters wanting to get on a flight, or asking what's happening.
Awaiting my G day call from screw-control asking me to help......
