Sorry, did I miss the part where an actual aircraft is challenging the existing 777? To be fair, I have no doubt that Boeing could slap an updated, super-critical wing with new donks on the 777 and the result would kick the crap out of any product from Toulouse. I sense the A340 program might be spreading its defeat by the 777 to the A350 program. Let's be honest. The Euros are yet to build anything bigger than the A330 that can compete with US builds.

Is the A380 smaller than a 747-8i?

Are there more orders and sales of the A380 or 747-8i?

Don't know if anyone else read the linked article, but personally, the implied bias reads like a press release from Boeing.
