HELP vision test

I'm hoping that someone on here can give me a little help with this. I completed the second interview on the 18&19th of june. The next thursday I recieved an email from the medical office stating that I need to get an eye exam from an ophthalmologist. No big deal but the problem I'm having is finding one in the States who is able (or even knows what it is) to do the vision acuity test. It states on the form that it needs intermediate vision at 1 meter using N Type and at 30-40cm using N Type. Have any of you guys come across this and how was it taken care of?? I've been to 5 doctors and called probably 40 trying to find one who knows what they want and am drawing a blank.

Thanks in advance.

......call the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota and ask them, they are specialised in aviation medicine and have contracts with many foreign aviation medical authorities ......
good luck to you!

HKCAD medical are pretty far behind in technology when it comes to this sort of thing.

I had to have some extra eye exams done by an aviation specialist in Australia when I joined, and the Opthalmologist said that some of the equipment that they needed the test performed with were so old he had to get out his old text books to remember how to operate them!

Unfortunately you just have to play the game.

good luck
