'09 Course Dates

My interview was successful a few months ago, and am waiting on a course date. With these latest developments at CX in terms of LOA's and what not, will the '09 course dates get axed?

P.S. SO candidate.

Thumbs down

Howitzer....the latest from the mis-management team is that all S/O and DEFO hiring for 09 has been cancelled....only the cadet courses are going ahead or being completed. I would imagine this precludes any new courses, but a call to recruiting should clear it up.....

Good luck mate.

Unfortunately it appears so. Only starters next year will be the cadet course. AT THIS STAGE

Things can change...

Re-Interview

What about re-interviewing? Is there a time period of which after the company would require you to re-interview?

I spoke to HR, the re interview period was 24 months but under present circumstances it is extended to indefinate, as it is the company that has held the course date back not the individual.

Just got the email. Sad but true!!
" Unfortunately, due to the global economic downturn, it is not possible to speculate when an offer of employment may be forthcoming. Current indications are that Cathay Pacific Airways will not be in a position to offer employment or initiate any recruitment processes in 2009.

We hope that by the third quarter of 2009 we shall be better placed to discuss a timeframe to offer employment."

flyinhigh - did you say no to any classdates? I am trying to determine who have been in the pool the longest without rejecting a classdate.

The Pool

Wonder what the ratio of S/Os to F/Os is in the pool ? I suspect there might be more S/Os ??
