Thumbs up Royal British Legion Poppy Umbrella

I've just taken delivery of 2 umbrellas designed with the poppy motif. They are quite spectacular and of exceptional quality. They come in 3 sizes, telescopic, normal and golf. They are so good, I have now ordered a couple more as spares/gifts. Best promotional item I have seen for a long time.

With sales goes a donation to the poppy appeal. They can be ordered on line or by telephone - see the website:

To quote from the site:

'Rembrella is pleased to support Royal British Legion Industries (Aylesford, UK) from sales of The Poppy Umbrella. The Poppy Umbrella has no connection with the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.'

This indicates that the umbrella is the Poppy Umbrella and not the Royal British Legion Poppy Umbrella, FJJP, even though its designer Graham Parker was inspired by the poppy fields of Flanders. But they do donate about 45p per brolly to charitable causes.

Over £9,000 has been raised from sales of The Poppy Umbrella as charitable donations for good causes: these include The Royal Hospital Chelsea (London), United Kingdom Services' Benevolent Funds and The Royal British Legion.
I didn't mean to imply that the brollies were purely for the poppy appeal - apologies.

However, they are so spectacular that they do much to raise the profile!

Yes, I have to say that they look good in the pics and I shall get a couple too. The charities are all good causes anyway. Thanks for bringing it all to my attention.

Copied from another forum:

The website also says that they have sold 20,000 umbrellas like this in the past from which they have made donations to charity. The turnover at those prices is around quarter of a million quid, out of which they say they have donated £9,000.

Personally, I'll make a donation direct I think.
