Wondering what kind of range an Mu-2 has, load, and hot and high performance as well. If one had the available funds would it be a good choice for personal use in the US? This Rotorhead appreciates any info.

The Mu2 is an interesting aircraft, and not for the temporary user. It has the worst safety record of any turboprop, mainly due to substandard training or infrequent use. Range is about 900 nm with reserves for the J or N model, the marquise has slightly better range with increased fuel capacity.
