Go easy on me guys, not too bright when it comes to PCs.

Need a little help with trying to work out why I can't get video clips to play on my new machine. It's running Windows 98 from my old machine with a bit more umph. I've downloaded Windows Media Player 9 and just installed a BT broadband connection.

When I try to play a clip on the BBCi site I get the following message;

Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported. (Error=80040265)

I've searched the BBC site to no avail so am at a loss as to how to get it to work.

Another problem I have is that I can play CDs in the ROM drive and hear them, but when the kids put a game CD in they get no sound. Any ideas?

And finally, with the new broadband connection is it possible to get the dial up connection to occur after startup automatically on selection of Internet Explorer, instead of having to double click on the broadband desktop icon first?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Bovey,

The clips on BBCi are .ram files. You need to get the Real Audio Player in order to view them. You can use their free player in order to view them.

Here is the Link:

RealOne Player for Windows (http://forms.real.com/netzip/getrde601.html?h=207.188.7.150&f=windows/mrkt/RNM01D/RealOnePlayerV2GOLD.exe&p=RealOne+Player&oem=dlbb&tagtype=ie&type=dlbb)
