I see that driving to work in Dubai has presented a challenge recently, due to the re-surfacing of the Maktoum bridge. Anyone turned up late to take a flight out yet?

While it isn't a lot of fun going across the bridges mid-day, the majority of EK report times are well outside of normal traffic hours. Even for the mid-day report times an extra 15 minutes drive isn't going to delay a flight since we usually get to operations well before report time to begin with.

Thanks TP, the UAE "Gulf News" reckoned that some people were being delayed about an hour!:ooh:

Try taking the new Emirates road. Just head inland from any of the interchanges then break left. Feels like you've gone half way to OMFJ but is an excellent freeway with no delays. Take the Rashidiyah exit rather than blindly following the airport signs to save some time.
Or just do what us EK pilots do - get helo transport off the pad on the Burj!
