Was recently guided to "Trillian" - a freebie download programme that can run MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL INstant Messenger, ICQ and Internet Relay Chat ALL AT ONCE.

Was working perfectly - then, for reasons unknown, MSN will not "log on" through Trillian - but will through MSN Messenger.

Anybody any idea where to look? I've tried all the obvious boxes - all the ticks are there (I think).

Try right-clicking on the MSN icon and choosing Toggle Status Window .

This should bring up a new window showing the status of the MSN connection. There should be an error message too, saying what's wrong.

*** Your display name has been set.
*** You have successfully logged on to MSN Messenger.
*** "Paul" signed on at Wed May 14 09:12:33 2003.
*** Lost connection to server. Err 0:0

That's all it says - have no access to any buttons or switches in it - whole process takes about three seconds. :{

Do you have the version .74 with Patch D?

Patch D apparently solves some connection problems. It can be downloaded from their website (http://www.trillian.cc/trillian/index.html).

Yep - it was working fine for "yonks" then just kicked out MSN.
