I'd like to rent out something like a Cherokee Six, an Arrow or pretty similar to maintain my IR skills over the next year.

Preferably with retractable u/c and VP.

I've been quoted £150 phour tacho wet for a Cherokee Six that is fitted out reasonably ok to IFR standards.

The a/c has to be based in the South East.

Any idea's ???

Alternatively I could put my money into a/c share's though i would need to get back that investment in 12 months time.

Plan C would be putting several thousand into a type-rating but it seems as though there are way too many if's and but's with that line of action !!!

Thanks

I suspect that you might get a larger response to your question by putting this in the private flying forum.

However if all you are trying to do is maintain your IR skills then why not try hiring a sim. About 10 years ago I was in the same position and I hired a Frasca sim without an instructor for about £20-25/hour. OK you cant log it but it is a much more cost effective way of practising.

The school where I rented mine has now closed down and I'm not sure where you might get one, but enquiring at any school that is advertising IR training would be a good starting point.

Rightbank is right......err, well correct when he says you'd get a better response in the Private Flying forum. If you want to do that (if you haven't already) we'll keep this thread going & between the two I hope we can find you the assistance that you desire.
