Putting a Photograph on Pprune

Is there someone who would be kind enough to talk me through the procedure (step by step) that is required to put a photograph on Pprune using Windows 98 and a Cannon FB 630P scanner. I simply want to follow up the written words with a photograph and while it may sound simple I'm afraid it's beyong me.
Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.
