Does the Gold Air press release of the 23rd have anything to do with this topic ?

Flexjet still exist as a pseudo-broker. Customers can still buy hours, but the work is farmed off to member companies, such as Gold, Avcon, Execujet etc. According to briefing, these flights will be sourced out to the Flexjet member companies - primarily those based in Switzerland (TAG, Avcon etc).

I'll be intrigued to see if it works. Farnborough is a NAP which needs 12 hours notice of passenger names - that's not going to work well for the executive who suddenly needs to come to London. However, be positive - you never know! One of the main reasons companies charter though is security - that also means corporate security, not letting the competitor know what your next move is. From now on you're going to be sitting with them reading their papers!!

Gold's press release has more to do with the fact that Ourjet is now operational (from what I can see!) with an 800 and therefore there's a bit more competition for them on that aircraft. You can't knock Gold's marketing people cos they do get the message out (whether it's across is another matter...) as the majority of London operators aren't charging positioning sectors at the moment anyway but not really publicising the fact.

And anyway, the Press Releases that have been going round are tailored to who they're sent to. Accordingly Gold now have 5 Lears at Stansted, 5 at Luton, 5 at Farnborough, and not forgetting the original 5 at Biggin!!
