The new Qatar Airways Marketing Manager has been fired, I am told ... and he's only been there six weeks!

Now, for any organisation to fire a manager after only six weeks probably means that there is something seriously wrong with their hiring process. If he was so bad that it became necessary to dispense with his services after such a short time why was the problem not identified at the time of the interview?

The whole hiring process at QR is chaotic anyway so it probably should come as no surprise. I understand that AAB didn't like him ... maybe he should conduct all interviews himself so those he doesn't like are not offered jobs ... problem is the airline would end up with no staff!!

And there was silly me thinking things had gone quiet at QR. Gets more like Fawlty Towers every day.

The stupid thing is, that when cabin crew are put forward for promotion: based on performance and assessments done by CS/ CSDs, it goes to him for approval.

He approves it then a few weeks later they are demoted or sacked!

Goldenboy! I agree...but if word got out no one would turn up for the interviews!

I have it from a VERY reliable source: when a bunch of that ilk suddenly appeared in Fawlty Towers the comment was:" We rejected her and her, but we were TOLD to recruit them!

Is GE back in DOH after his stint in London?

Yes, apparently GE has been back for a few months and is looking after Frequent Flyer and Qatar Airways Holidays.

GE is back long time ago. Looking after FFP only. Nothing to do with holidays, although perhaps he will take on the role temp since Mark Senior is leaving 10th Jan.
