Might this be the MD90 sim covered in the following thread?

Saudia presently operate their own flight academy with aircraft ranging from cherokees to full flight simulators. They are in the process of building a new training center (Prince Sultan Aviation Academy) to house 4 more simulators. This building should open next summer but there wont be any recruitment for flight instructors.

I was reading the FCI (Flight Crew International) last year & they were recruiting ground school instructors, LAST YEAR. There was nothing else mentioned about simulator instructors.

Mike,

4 flight instructors were hired last year and got all the perks that went with a Captains title including first class travel home every month. But they hardly flew.

12 months later, one remains, a Pakistani national.......

Draw your own conclusions.

They have recently fired most of the expat first officers and expect to have replaced ALL foreign flight crew by 2006. Therefore there isnt a snowballs chance in hell of them recruiting ANY foreign flight crew.

FYI, they still need ground school guys, but the salary is only US40K, so they havent managed to find people. They dont recruit direct simulator instructors.

Thanks Mutt! You are right, for 40k they are not going to get
too many takers! If they were to raise the pay, may know several guys that would be interested.

At FSB the Saudis have cancelled all of their MD90 training till
the end of year (2002), the crews are still unable to receive visas.
