Not a hope in hell ,unless you have direct contacts to the director of ops (Farooq Jawed) or one of the senior managers.
Jawed will only take Canadians from his old regional airline on the east coast of canada and the last 3 F/os have had direct links to senior management.Direct entry Captains require a lot of metro 3 command time and as for the 757,thats gone and no replacement coming .EAT (brussels )has taken that run over.and the 757 drivers are in limbo probably terminated by april next year.A couple of 757 guys have expressed interest in returning to the metros so that would block any new employment also.

Now the other perspective..
1) Nationalities of all sorts are accepted as Metro Capt's
2) It seems Canucks and Kiwi's find it more attractive than most
due to the favorable monetary exchange rates as DHL pilots
paid in USD, and there are lots more of them with the desired
Metro experience.
3) It is a commonly accepted industrywide practice to hire pilots
with whom you have personal experience..hiring mistakes are
costly when bringing someone overseas.
4) Whether or not any former 757 pilot comes back to the TP fleet
is immaterial, it has been made an option.
5) Far from being in limbo, several options exist for those who
have been displaced by the tragic loss of our 757.
6) Send in your resume..it is necessary to have good
experience on Metro's with a command type rating
7) Naysayers are everywhere, and tend to dwell on the negative
8) Be politely persistent in folllowing up your resume persistence
pays off annoyance does not...
9) GOOD LUCK!!!!

Well put Ironside, historically hiring happens when there an unforcast shortfall in numbers. Keep trying and don't take to heart first refusal. Good Luck

Heard rumours of DHL BAH planning on replacing the Convairs with ATR42/72?
How far is the planning on that one and what about the Metro's?
