For the first time in ages I'm not going on my hols on an ID90 ticket & am flying to SSH with Lotus Air. Tried looking on the net for any info to no avail & all I can glean from other sources is that they fly in & out of LGW once a week on an A320, & that they are an Egyptian carrier......

Any other info would be much appreciated......thx in advance!

Hiya!

Flew with Lotus Air A320 October last year TLL-SSH-TLL.

What can I say...? Flight time was around 4 hours or so if I remember correctly. Service on board was very average with very limited information given and just the basics concerning safety demonstration. No announcements from the flight deck during entire flight, just cabin crew.

Hot meal was served, but unfortunately no VGML available, though requested in advance. Drinks served only once during 4 hour flight !!!   Duty-free available on board, but the choice limited and prices not that good if we compare to the airport duty-free... of course differs and depends upon the location of airport. Noticed Lotus Air crew doing some duty-free shopping at the airport, so better get all you want from airport.

My suitcase was damaged on arrival. Seems it was done by baggage loaders while unloading in SSH. Took around 30mins to find somebody handling Lotus Air who could could write a PIR. No reimbursement/replacement whatsoever, and nobody contacted me during my stay as it was promissed. So be sure you check your baggas as soon as you get them off the belt.

There are a few nice places worth visiting in Naama Bay, Sharm. Where are you staying there???

Lotus seem to operate more flights for other operators than they do for themselves. They certainly used to (maybe still do) operate TIP-LHR-TIP for Libyan Arab and they are also currently wet leasing an aircraft to Oman Air.

I could not find anything on the web either! :)

Lo,

For an African Airline .. Lotus Air was great when they where wet -leased by Ghana Airways.... enough said of that on the Africa Aviation Forum, but in short they where not paid and pulled out !

We flew directly from West Africa to South Africa via Accra (Ghana) and what a pleasure ... no pilot chatter or so but the booze was always enough - nice, new aircraft for African standards and very little pax - great for us ! :D
