Can anyone suggest a simple audio programme that will allow voice recordings to be manipulated. The Windows wav file programme is nearly there but I need to top and tail single words a little more accurately to allow phrases to be produced.

Cool edit works well for me. You can zoom right in to cut out thinks, which seems to be what you want.
