Cd-r Problems! [Archive]

I have installed a faster CD writer in my computer and I can't get it to burn CD's.
The error message I get using both NERO and CD Creator is
"Media Speed Error"
I have tried all the usual things like making both drives non DMA, setting the writing speed lower (right down to 2 x speed).

My system is :

AMD Athlon 900MHz
20 gig HD
512Mb RAM
DVD ROM 12X
CD-RW 40x 24x 10x

Has anybody got any ideas??????

If it is CD Creator, you can just rerun the tests for the CDRW drive
Not sure about Nero

You should be able to do a re-calibrate with Nero, too (though it might be a separate app off the Start, Programs, Nero tab (can't check here as I only have my laptop here ATM.)
