Here's a naive question for the masses:

Are there any alternatives to the Saudi/BAe juggernaut in terms of pilot jobs for a military (& fast jet) instructor in the Middle-East?

I'm unaware if countries such as UAE, Kuwait, Qatar etc... have similar "privatised" training using foreign QFIs - is there such a beast?

If so, I would be interested in any job opportunities and their associated pay & conditions.

:)

There are no stupid questions...only stupid answers.

Does this disclaimer also apply to naive questions?

Apart from al-yamamah, I understand that BAe has interests in other ME locations but under different contracts (AY is purely between the UK and KSA). I know definitely of one in Kuwait, flying Tucanos, and I have heard of other similar arrangements in Oman and UAE.

Details on these other arrangements are exceptionally hard to come by - even from those who supposedly run them! Personal contacts have been the only way I have been able to get any info.

Maybe someone else out there knows better.
