View Full Version : How do I play an "enhanced" CD?

I bought Andrea Bocelli's CD "Cieli di Toscana" - it plays perfectly well on my stereo system but when I try to play it through my PC it won't play.

By finding a "start.exe" file I ran a video gallery - all very charming but after the audio/video of Bocelli and the composers/creators of the first track nothing else happens!

On the PC screen, at the time the picture of the sea is swirling to the background of the first track (which isn't played in full, this is clearly an option on the CD separate from music tracks) are the usual stop, start, fast forward/reverse options but they don't take me to another track...merely play the track at a faster speed so Bocelli sounds like a cartoon character!

My question is, how do I play the "regular" music tracks? One of the directories on the CD contains what I believe are the tracks but they are in .32x format...what do I need to play these?

I have SoundBlaster Live! installed and the playcentre is reasonably sophisticated but it doesn't find the CD!

 :D

In Win2000, Go to c:\WINNT/System32 and look for a file called 'cdplayer.exe'. Double left click on that and it should bring up a cd player window. You can also create a shortcut for it and place it on your desktop or as a button on the office toolbar.

BrockenS - ok. Still got Win 98 on my old drive. Look for c:\windows/cdplayer.exe. If you can't find it easily, do a search in Windows Explorer using 'cd' in the subject line.
