Why do I get bracket signs and 'BR'

I think this has been answered before and I will extend my knowledge of how to tweak settings by investigating in the depths of my old and slow computer. I will also 'search' PPRUNE (if it still exists). Only problem since new 'server' and not on this forum either.
Reply in simple language I am still flying BABS approaches !

Where, old chap, do you get these? Are you 'on the beam' when it happens?

If it is an 'old' posting (ie previous bulletin board), there have been problems bringing those posts over due to the computer 'language' used on each.

Absolutely right. Thanks BOAC. Anything post 1 April is OK. Must go back to figuring out this GPS. Press everything in sight until it tells you how to get home. Like my Grandfather's pony and cart -only knew the route to and from the pub. Would not budge when he had to be transported past the pub to the hospital. Cheers
